TexMar Shrimp
In 1995, Bowers Shrimp began offering TexMar Shrimp. Owned and operated by the Bowers Family, TexMar is located in Belize, Central America. TexMar Shrimp continues in the family tradition of producing a premium product.
The shrimp are raised next to the coast of Belize in grow out ponds supplied by the blue waters of the Caribbean. TexMar Shrimp are Pacific White Shrimp (penaeus vannamei) and are fed several times a day. When each crop reaches a marketable size, the shrimp are harvested. The tropical climate allows us to harvest 2-3 times a year. This allows you to enjoy the exceptional taste of TexMar Shrimp year-round.
Harvested shrimp immediately fall into a vat of ice slush for an instantaneous chill-kill, which ensures freshness and quality. Immediately after harvest, TexMar Shrimp are taken to a local Belize processor, where they are block-frozen in one of the most modern and up-to-date plants in the world. Through meticulous sanitary processing and temperature control, we carefully monitor, weigh, package, and store our unique crop. Because the temperature is so vital to product freshness, we consistently and carefully monitor our shrimp to maintain the correct temperature. We begin with the ice-slush during harvest and continue right up to sub zero storage of the finished product. From the farm to you, our product is handled with extreme care for you, our customer.
